Bamboo Bio-Fence Sri Lanka: Can It Reduce Human–Elephant Conflict?
China has agreed to support Sri Lanka’s proposed bamboo bio-fence initiative through technical expertise and research. The project could strengthen community protection and rural livelihoods, but it cannot replace elephant corridors, responsible land-use planning or action against illegal habitat destruction.
