Sri Lanka fuel price October 2026 has been revised, with the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) announcing increases to Petrol 92 Octane, Auto Diesel and Super Diesel with effect from midnight on 30 September 2026. The strongest adjustment is for Super Diesel, which increases by Rs.50 from Rs.478 to Rs.528 per litre. Meanwhile, Petrol 95 Octane remains unchanged at Rs.475 per litre, while kerosene remains at Rs.285 per litre.

What the Increase Means for Consumers
The Auto Diesel increase is particularly relevant because diesel is widely used in commercial transport, freight, buses and other economic activities. A Rs.10 increase per litre does not automatically mean transport or goods prices will rise immediately, because those decisions depend on several other costs, but sustained fuel-price increases can place additional pressure on operating expenses.
The Rs.15 Petrol 92 increase will be felt more directly by motorists using cars, motorcycles and three-wheelers. Super Diesel users face the largest individual increase, with the new price reaching Rs.528 per litre.
